"blog more, it's boring me."

At the request of one Kiley Ryan Bender, I will once again update this lovely blog-o-mine.

It's officially been three weeks of classes down, with only twelve remaining and it's kind of terrifying that this trip is already 1/5 of the way over. I can't tell yet if time is flying past me or just ticking by (the psychology classes here do seem to go on forever though...). All I know is that I'm trying to memorize every single minute of this journey.

Regardless of those dull psychology courses, I am loving this university. I couldn't have asked for more pertinent and interesting classes. I couldn't have been given two more fun and sarcastic roommates. I couldn't have been thrown into a more beautiful and inspiring part of London. I wish that every single person who reads this could have the same opportunity to have this experience.

So, where has the road taken me so far? I've been to Warwick Castle, which was much cheesier than it sounds, but still an absolutely beautiful piece of history that should be preserved forever. Stratford-upon-Avon was really nice. If not for the birthplace of William Shakespeare, it was a really lovely little town with some really nice places to shop. This coming Saturday I am hopping on a bus and going to Bath for free due to a delayed bus on our first trip, which caused us to be an hour and a half late to everywhere we went.

London has become my playground. There is so much to see and do that I will absolutely never get all of it done, but I'm sure as hell going to try.

England, Keep My Bones

I have arrived! London is the most beautiful city in the entire world. It's busy like New York City but old like nothing I've ever seen before. You can look past historic landmarks and see sky scrapers that tower above everything else. It's gorgeous. The fashion is insanely cool. Primark is going to become my new best friend while I'm here. The location on Oxford Street is always insanely packed. Think Macy's in Times Square or a WalMart on black Friday. Seriously, let's move this place to America. It's brilliant.

I highly recommend this bar called O'Neils. It's a ball and a half. StrongBow is DELICIOUS and apparently accounts for about 20% of the hard cider sold here, so at least we're doing one thing right.

The music here kills me though. Pop music is at least a year or so behind. One live band in the bar only  90's rock, which, to be entirely honest, was awesome! Music helps me gauge the vibe of a place, and here the people are alive, vibrant, exciting and fast-paced. The word unique can't even begin to describe it.

Classes have begun, routine is setting in and things are looking nothing but good. I couldn't be more excited about this entire experience. For myself, it's all about embracing another culture to walk in their shoes (which, here, tend to be a little too expensive for me). Even though the food may be a little foreign and the language may be a bit different (who in the world says "biscuit" and doesn't think of a flaky, buttered roll? It's a cookie, people) I am so excited to soak up every little bit of everything that this place has to offer. I'll even embrace the salt-less food.

I think that may be all for now. Check out some of these links for some music and continue to check up on this blog! Subscribe by entering your email into the box on the right-hand side!
